Air conditioning systems must be designed and sized correctly to suit your specific needs. If an air conditioning system is undersized it will run for excessive time periods during peak operation, causing wear on the unit and high power consumption. Alternatively if a system is oversized you will incur excessive installation costs and high power consumption during normal usage times.
Ducted Air Conditioning:
Understandably, sizing and design of ducted air conditioning systems can be particularly complicated and time consuming. MKS Rural Services works closely with professional air conditioning and refrigeration engineers to ensure that the design, sizing and installation we provide meet your individual needs.

Wall, Floor or Ceiling Mounted Air Conditioning:
The most commonly installed air conditioning systems on the market today are high wall split systems, but these too need to be sized appropriately for the application and room construction. There are currently many companies flooding the market with cheap installations of cheap air conditioning units, however you must ask yourself what kind of quality are you getting?
Here are just a few examples of things that your “cheaper” or “quicker” installers might miss or not bother with.
Packing the penetration hole is important to stop rodents and insects using the pipe cover, pipework and cables as a highway into your home.
Complete insulation of all pipe work & fittings, to prevent condensation from occurring inside your pipe cover.
The use of a vacuum pump and vacuum gauge to ensure that the pipework and fittings are sound and sealed (no leaks!!!). This is also a LEGAL REQUIREMENT of installers that is skipped far too often.
Finally, a personal touch MKS Rural Services adds to our installations is placing “mothballs” and rodent bait inside of the condensing unit. The mothballs last about 2 - 3 months and reduce the risk of gecko’s making their nest on a PCB.
